    The Hilaire Belloc Letters collection contains twenty-seven letters written by the English Catholic author between 1899 and 1936. Most of the letters are to his friend, the American Catholic painter and essayist Carl Schmitt (1889-1989), one of the founding members of the Silvermine Guild of Artists in Connecticut.
