Biographical or Historical Information

Francis Joseph Zucco was born on December 12, 1912 in Springfield, Massachusetts.  He graduated from Cathedral High School.  He initially chose to attend the University of Notre Dame, but soon transferred to the College of St. Thomas from which he graduated in 1936.  He spent four successful years playing for the St. Thomas football team, being named to the all-state team his senior year. After graduation, he played football professionally for the St. Paul Stars and the Minnesota All-Stars.  He then had a successful career as a teacher, coach and principal at a variety of public schools in St. Paul, before retiring in 1977.  Zucco passed away February 25, 2008.
