Biographical / Historical
The Dougherty Family College (DFC) opened in Fall 2017 to provide a two-year associate degree program. Its first cohort of students graduated in Spring 2019.
DFC was created to offer students a strong foundation for academic success through structured and intensive mentoring, a focused curriculum, generous financial aid, and small class sizes. These supports were designed to help students thrive during their first two years of college and seamlessly transition into a four-year program with minimal student debt.
The college is named in honor of Michael (CST ’66) and Kathy Dougherty and their family, and is based on the Minneapolis campus.
