Biographical or Historical Information
The Befriender Ministry Program was started in 1981 as a program in the Center for Religious Education. Its mission was to train church members how to support their fellow parishioners who are grieving, hospitalized or lonely. The program was later adapted to train volunteers and nurses in hospitals and nursing homes.
