Biographical or Historical Information
The Center for Religious Education was established at the College of St. Thomas in September 1975, with a view to providing workshops and other training for Catholic religious educators in the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis (and other Christian educators of the Midwest). In 1977, it began offering a MA degree in Catechetics and Liturgy. In 1986, the newly established School of Divinity at the Saint Paul Seminary included the Center for Religious Education and Graduate Programs in Pastoral Studies as a part of its mission.
