Biographical or Historical Information
The Audio-Visual Department at the College of St. Thomas was established in 1953 to provide materials and services to instructors at the college and St. Thomas Military Academy. The name of the department was changed to Instructional Support Services (ISS) in 1986. By that time, the department's duties had expanded to include classroom services, graphic and photographic services, management of the Learning Center, and audio and video production. In 2002, the functions of ISS were integrated into the newly created Information Resources and Technology (IRT) department.
