Biographical or Historical Information
The College of St. Thomas first opened a School of Law in September 1923. Considered a "day school" by the Minnesota Supreme Court, the program graduated its first class in 1926. The school was short-lived however. The financial stress of the Great Depression led to the program's closure in 1933. After an extensive study, the University of St. Thomas Board of Trustees voted to reopen the School of Law in 1999. The first students of the revived School of Law began their studies in the Fall of 2001 and graduated in the Spring of 2004.
