Biographical or Historical Information

As early as 1975, a Minority Student Affairs coordinator was a part of the Dean of Student Life office.  This role supported the social and psychological needs of minority students on campus and offered cultural programs of interest to the community.   In 1990, the name of the office was changed to Multicultural Student Services.  The goal of this service also shifted to providing networking opportunities and advocacy for students of color on campus.  In 2013, the office was renamed Student Diversity and Inclusion Services.  Its goal is to enhance the campus climate for diversity through education, leadership, advocacy, and community.
